The World of Adobe Photoshop
While I am far from an expert, I have begun to learn some of the most basic functions and tools available through Photoshop. This was a program that I heard much about and even seen used by my art student roommate, but never actually tried myself. That is until this last week of class.
Through the class work and lecture I learned things like
- How to select and set the desirable pixel dimensions from the opening box
- How to set the desired resolution (clearer always seems like the right way to go)
- How to set the background contents- we kept ours at white but you could select transparent which would be great for logos
- How to view our projects as a set of layers that you are looking down on top of, as though on a table
- How to manipulate the colors of the background as well as the text
- How to change the text size as well as rearrange layers as desired, or even grouping them
- How to effectively use the move tool to arrange all the items the way you would like
In addition to the class time where we were able to get hands on practice, I was able to find more, additional sources, to continue to learn about the toolbar and other functions.
One of the more impressive sites I found can be located through the link below:
For another walk-through in addition to some amazing examples, go here:
For a video walk-through where you can follow along with the screen, this was one of the best I have found:
For another introduction video that is slightly shorter and the start of a series of video by this creator, begin here:
